CORE autosport capped off an incredible first season by winning the Team Championship in the Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Series. CORE autosport driver Charlie Shears was also officially awarded the Driver's Championship trophy this week even though he had clinched the title after the last race weekend in Mosport, Canada.
The team championship was a tight battle between Eurosport Racing and CORE autosport for most of the season. However, all three of the Downs brothers chose to drive an LMPC car in the Petit Le Mans race. Jon Brownson rose to the challenge in an effort to retain the team title for Eurosport Racing. Brownson did a spectacular job of driving through the field and earning podium positions in each race, but Gary Gibson's win on Thrusday and 2nd place finish on Friday clinched the championship for CORE autosport.
CORE autosport Owner and Driver, Jonathan Bennett accepted the award and credited Morgan Brady, Team Manager, the Crew and Drivers for their hard work and dedication in capturing the Team Championship.
